The route

We leave the minibus at Low Kelder and climb steadily through the intake fields to the first top, Kelder Knott. From there the ridge runs north for five kilometres over Hause Fell, Scarrow Crag and Grey Man, rarely dropping below 600 metres.

The only tricky bit is ten metres of easy scrambling onto Scarrow Crag. Your guide will show you every hold, and there’s a path round it if you’d rather walk.

Who it’s for

Fit hillwalkers who are happy with seven hours on their feet, steep descents and some exposure. If you’ve done a few big days in the hills before, you’ll love it.
