The route

We follow Thrangill Beck upstream through one of the oldest oak woods in the Kelder Fells, crossing it twice on stone footbridges. The path passes three waterfalls, the last and highest dropping fifteen metres into a deep pool.

On the way back we cut across the fields to Low Kelder for tea and a slice of cake at the tearoom, which is included.

Who it’s for

Everyone. It’s a good first guided walk, a good one for older children and a good one for a wet day, when the falls are at their best.
